Official Records Contacts

This is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or obtain an official record. Contact the agency that maintains the information for an authoritative answer.

Prince Edward records routes

Use the office that holds the particular record. Piedmont Regional Jail handles its own current-custody and records questions, while the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office is the county law-enforcement contact. A Farmville Police Department request belongs with that department when it holds the report or intake material.

Where to direct a question

Each record system covers a different stage. A focused request should identify the person, the agency, a narrow date range, and the record needed.

  • For a person now held at PRJ, use its official offender lookup and then PRJ Records if clarification is needed.
  • For an adult booking record or photo, contact the custodian and ask for a cost estimate before production.
  • For case progress or a certified court record, use Virginia’s court search and the Prince Edward Circuit Court Clerk at 434-392-5145.
  • For a VADOC custody or supervision result, use the statewide VADOC locator and its records procedure.
  • For federal or civil immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator that serves that distinct system.
